Hachimitsu no Hana ~ Which love is it? Part 1.2
Before I start the post, I'll like to warn the people first that the post is really long, and some of my htoughts might not be abgreeable with you. However, this is my blog, so i am untittled to typing out my feelings, so i would really appreciated it if you don't make any rude comments in my cbox.

--------------------------------------------------------

The story i am typing out is from a story inside the manga, Hachimitsu no Hana - Chapter 7.

As i type out the story, i will add in my feelings and thought. The story is in italics.

There was once a goblin, that lived deep inside a mountain.
For some reason, he was the only one whose shape was different from the rest of his kind.

So he was always by himself.

One day, out of a whim, he saved a human in distress at the foot of the mountain,

The girl was very grateful to him.

The goblin was very perplexed.

"Are you not afraid of me?" He asked.

While holding his hand in hers. The girl answered. "No, I'm not."

"Your hair and the eyes, are almost like the moon that illuminates the night..." She told him in her lovely resounding voice. Her warm hands holding him tightly.

More then when he craves dead fish. More then when he sleeps to forget about his loneliness.

A sweet feeling took place in the goblin's heart.

At this point, most people will think that the story will end with a happily ever after. But it didn't... Even i also guessed wrongly. The ending was rather sad in fact.

The goblin was infatuated with the girl.

The girl's heart was also captured by the goblin.

However, despite it all. The goblin wasn't human.

Until the end, the goblin still couldn't understand what feeling the girl triggered in him was.

What was that warmth that healed his loneliness?

What was that emotion that lit up his heart?

Was it love that he felt for the girl or was it just juvenile attachment that a child has for it's parents?

But the goblin was scared that the girl would eventually leave him. So he made her into a part of his flesh and blood for eternity.

That is the end of the story of the goblin.

After reading it, i felt rather unhappy. because i dislike unhappy endings. Life is already unhappy enough. Why must stories be unhappy too? However, i thought that the story is very good. I really like the part when the author ask what type of love it was. Was it real love or just more of admire?

I think that we can relate to the people whom we like too. Is it real love? Or are we just seeking security, or is it our hormones giving us this impulse to like a certain person?

Luckily, the author do give a good ending. In the manga, the heroine was rather depressed after reading the story. Later on, they met the young author of the book. Then they found out that the book was actually based on the main male character.

Having met the author, the heroine asked the author various questions.

Why is the story so sad?

Why did the goblin kill the girl?

Where was the feelings he had.

The answers that the author gave her.

He didn't realise that he wanted the girl more then he felt.

Moreover, i believe that ending with her not leaving his side would be the best way to calm his heart.

With his stomach filled, he felt a supreme bliss.

But after that, once again, he had to bear the loneliness until the end of him.

So, the reason why that story is sad, is because of the madness born from the anxiety of a childish heart.

I feel that the author is a little cruel. But it makes sense though. After all, love does drive us sort of crazy doesn't it? Just look at Dao in the Rice with out Rain. Even though she knew that Dusit most probably isn't a good man. She still trusted him and believed him.

All because of love.

Not only that, don't we see on the newspaper about teenagers jumping off the building because of love? Because someone dumped/betrayed him or her? I even know a person who got seriously messed up because of love.

And it's all because of love.

Now, back to the story. At the end of the manga chapter. The author also revealed the answer to an unanswered question.

The story of the lonely goblin, is it a childish attachment? Or real love?

The answer:

It's probably, the madness of a childish love.

I agree and i approve.
